About Friends of Amani (UK)
The Friends of Amani UK was formed for the purpose of raising funds to promote the health, welfare, and education of children and their families in Tanzania, Africa. We participate in a growing global community, brought together to support the Amani Children’s Home in Tanzania, East Africa. The Friends of Amani UK is a registered British charity (#1107618).
Amani Children’s Home is a grassroots Tanzanian charity that rescues street children and orphans from homelessness and restores hope in their lives. More information about Amani Children’s Home.
The Values and Goals of Friends of Amani (UK) are to:
- Assist the Amani Children’s Home. We value the work, honesty and integrity, both past and present, of the Administrators and Staff members, and Trustees of the Amani Children’s Home. Our first priority is to assist Amani to grow its donor base in the United Kingdom so that the Amani organisation will become financially secure.
- Demonstrate Financial Accountability. Our bylaws require us to utilize financial controls to assure to our donors that the highest percentage of all contributions will go in direct support of the Amani Children’s Home programs and operations.
- Build Relationships. We strive to connect UK supporters with the Amani Children’s Home children and staff by providing information, fund raising activities, and a organisational structure. We look to continue developing a community made of those who live at the Home, work there, and support it from the United Kingdom.
